The purpose of our Young Indian Internship Scheme is to give Indian students an opportunity to be exposed to the running of a grass roots NGO (non-government organisation) while providing them with the opportunity to contribute to a project and gain insight into rural communities in India. We aim to inspire, motivate, and educate students so that they take something away from the experience and pursue their future goals with an open mind.
Indian students are welcome to apply from a variety of backgrounds to assist in many areas of RIDE’s work. You will be provided with support and training to fulfill your role as well as ongoing mentoring throughout the length of your program. On completion of the program you will be provided with a letter of recognition for your work.
This is an unpaid program and students are expected to cover their travel costs to and from RIDE. However, RIDE will provide transport during the program as well as lunch.
We accept applications throughout the year for various start dates. We usually expect students to commit to at least 1 month full time or 3 months part time. However, we do occasionally have openings for short term internships, for example, to support a particular program we are running. Please provide details of availability on the application form.
We are always happy to accept applications and urge people from all backgrounds to apply. We feel that anyone can make a difference, no matter how small, with willingness and a positive attitude.
We often have one off events which bring together the rural community and international visitors. If you would like to put your name down to be a volunteer and interpreter at one of these events please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your details and we will get in touch when we next have an event.
If you are interested in applying for the Young Indian Internship Scheme please download the Young Indian Internship Application Form and email to email@example.com along with a reference from your tutor.
